Tractive GPS Dog Collar

Piper's safety is always a huge concern whenever we take her to the beach, on a hiking trail, or a run with us. Knowing that we can track her location if we somehow become separated is an enormous stress relief when we are out exploring.

Tractive Dog Collar

The Tractive GPS Tracker tracks Piper in real-time. Not only does it show her location in the app, but we can enable the history option to see exactly the path she has taken. A bonus is we can turn on the “Heat Signature” option on the tracking map, and the heat signature option will show RED in the areas where she has spent the most time.

Why did we choose a Tractive GPS collar?

When Piper was only about four months old, we took a family road trip up the Oregon coast. We love exploring the beaches, and Piper loves it when she has the opportunity to come along.

Yaquina Head Lighthouse

After returning from the beach, our daughter Rylie held the leash walking Piper when a group of kids rode by on their bikes and spooked Piper. Rylie could not hold on to the leash, and Piper took off like a lightning bolt, running scared. Within a few seconds, she was out of our sight. We had only been at the RV park for a few hours, so we didn’t know where to look, and we knew Piper was scared and lost.

Panic set in, we searched up and down every aisle of the RV park and searched along the beach but could not find her. Thankfully, Piper had found her way back to our RV on her own while we are the beach searching for her.

Although she was scared and scratched up, she was safe at our RV waiting for us to return.

We could have turned those hours we spent looking for her into minutes if we had only had a Tractive GPS collar. We could have tracked where she was, where she was going, and her current location saved us a lot of time and reduced the time Piper was scared and alone.
